The Mattila battery energy storage system is part of the development of power system flexibility in Finland. With a capacity of 20 MW, the project is classified as a Type C energy storage system, requiring detailed modelling and grid compliance verification.
Ampner played a central role in the grid compliance verification process by ensuring that the plant models met all applicable requirements and that simulation results passed the required functional assessments.
PSS®E modelling and simulations were carried out to verify system performance under different grid operating conditions. In addition, Ampner delivered protection relay settings as part of its service portfolio, ensuring a safe and reliable connection to the medium-voltage network.
