POWER SYSTEM STUDIES

Ampner’s power system studies service can be added to complement the VJV2018 compliance service or implemented as an independent project. Studies can also be applied to power plants, distribution networks and industrial plants. Power system studies include e.g. load flow studies, fault current studies, definition of protection device settings, selectivity studies and disturbance analysis.

We have licenses for the major power engineering analysis software, such as PowerFactory from DIgSILENT and PSS®E from Siemens PTI. This enables us to work directly on the modeling platform Fingrid requires the power plant models to be supplied as part of the grid code compliance procedure.

BENEFITS

Fingrid’s approval is a prerequisite for the power plant grid connection. In the extended VJV2018 compliance service, Ampner is a common partner for project parties. Our service enables the project parties to focus on their own part and avoid double work. Our service model has been developed to be compatible with the requirements of Fingrid. Ampner will take the responsibility of the grid code compliance procedure. The compliance service includes modeling, calculation, simulations, testing, reporting, and consultation throughout the different stages of the grid code compliance process.

We are involved throughout the project duration to ensure the verification of a power plant grid code compliance. All the project partners benefit from Ampner carrying out objectively the verification of the technical features of the power plant. With our expertise and early involvement, we can ensure already at the planning stage, that the power plant components and plans meet the grid connection requirements without unnecessary additional costs, surprises, or delays in the project.
