OX2 has announced an investment decision to invest approximately EUR 400 million in three new wind power projects in Finland. This marks OX2’s second large-scale investment decision in Finland this year. Ampner is involved in all three projects as a technical expert.
According to OX2’s announcement, the investment portfolio includes the Kannisto, Korkeamaa and Salo-Ylikoski wind farms, with a combined nominal capacity of 277 MW. Once completed, the projects are expected to generate approximately 860 GWh of renewable electricity annually, representing a significant share of Finland’s electricity consumption.
Three projects – one integrated portfolio
The investment portfolio consists of:
- Kannisto Wind Farm (124 MW) in Halsua, Central Ostrobothnia
- Korkeamaa Wind Farm (108 MW) in Soini, South Ostrobothnia
- Salo-Ylikoski Wind Farm (45 MW) in Kauhava, South Ostrobothnia
According to OX2, construction activities have started immediately, and planning work is already underway across all sites.
Ampner’s role in the projects
Ampner is involved in all three wind power projects, providing expert services as part of their implementation. Ampner’s expertise supports the technical quality of the projects, their grid integration and regulatory compliance — all of which are critical success factors for investments of this scale.
Large-scale projects such as these require a high level of technical design and analysis. OX2’s investment decision and financing arrangements demonstrate that the Finnish wind power market is internationally attractive and technically mature.
For Ampner, participation in projects like these is part of long-term work to advance renewable energy production in Finland. Collaboration with leading industry players further strengthens Ampner’s role as a technical partner in demanding wind power developments.
